As of January 31st, 2017, the open enrollment period has officially ended. But, not to worry, there are still several way’s that you can qualify to get into a new Major Medical plan if you incur a life change throughout the year. There are several very common life changes that will allow you to qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, or also referred to as a SEP. If you qualify for one of these SEP’s, you will have 60 days from the event to change plans or purchase a new plan, on or off the marketplace. The most commons SEP’s included marriage, divorce, birth of a new child, loss of employer coverage and several others. Contact us today if you are unsure if you qualify or not and we will determine your eligibility within a few minutes by asking you a couple of simple questions. We will also discuss with you the documents that will be needed to prove your SEP in order to maintain your Health Coverage throughout the year. If you do not qualify for a SEP, there are still several options we can explore with you, such as a Short Term Medical Plan or a Hospital Indemnity Plan to cover you until the next Open Enrollment Period. Contact us today and we will review all the options with you to make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision!
